All play has been postponed Tuesday at the Fayez Sarofim & Co. U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship due to persistent rain at River Oaks Country Club.
“We are certainly disappointed that we cannot play today,” said Tournament Director Bronwyn Greer. “On top of the rain we have already had, the forecast calls for the rain to continue into the evening. We feel it is in everyone’s best interests to make this decision early and prepare for the remainder of the week.”
Patrons holding tickets for either Tuesday’s day or night session may use them to access the grounds only for the Court 3 and Court 7 matches on Wednesday. Ten matches are scheduled for those courts on Wednesday. The full Wednesday schedule can be found here.
Alternatively, patrons with Tuesday tickets who are unwilling or unable to attend Wednesday’s matches may request a refund for their tickets by emailing the tournament box office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
As a result of the postponement of all play Tuesday, the schedule for the remainder of the tournament will be altered as follows:
Wednesday – Play outside Center Court, on Courts 3 and 7, will begin at 11 a.m. The two Center Court sessions will begin, as scheduled, at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. The gates on Wednesday morning will open at 10 a.m.
Saturday – The doubles final will be pushed to Sunday afternoon. The 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon session will now feature both singles semifinals as well as both doubles semifinals.
Sunday – The singles final will be held at 2 p.m. as originally scheduled, and it will now be followed by the doubles final.
