HOUSTON – The Bryan twins won their third consecutive title at the US Men’s Clay Court Championship and their fourth overall with a 6-7(4) 6-2 10-5 win over fellow Americans John Isner and Sam Querrey on Saturday night.
The Bryans have now won 16 straight matches in Houston, having won titles in 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011 (they did not play in 2008).
The title is the 69th in the career of the Bryans, who established a new record for team titles last summer.
The opening set was the only set the Bryans dropped on their way to the title this year.
After splitting sets to reach the match tie-break, Isner and Querrey jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but were outscored 10-2 the rest of the way.
The Bryans are now 5-0 against Isner and Querrey all-time.
Isner and Querrey, nicknamed “Quisner” as a doubles tandem, is now 1-2 all-time in finals.
