2013 Volunteer Team Information
This year's dates are April 8 - 14, 2013 and we look forward to once again hosting a fantastic group of players from around the world. The tournament is only be a few months away so we invite all of you to join us once again as a part of our team.
For some, this might be your first year volunteering for the tournament, so you can learn a little more below about the positions available. Please be sure to ask us if you have any questions about some of the areas.
Transportation (Drivers)
The transportation committee is responsible for providing transportation for all players, coaches, VIP's, and umpires to and from the airport, hotels, and the tournament site as needed.
Volunteers for this committee must be 25 years of age, have a valid driver's license, and a good driving record. A background check of your driving record will be conducted. Drivers should have a good working knowledge of the area and routes to local airports and venues. Volunteers must posess the ability to remain professional at all times.
Ushers
Volunteers will work the main stadium and outside courts checking tickets and directing ticket holders to their seats. Ushers are also responsible for patron access into the main stadium, checking all tickets and credentials.
Ushers must be at least 17 years of age and able to work in sun and heat. Must be able to stand for long periods of time if needed.
Security
Volunteers for security will maintain security around the perimeter and inside the venue. Their goal is to make sure players and patrons have trouble-free enjoyment of the tournament. They are responsible for granting access to certain areas, performing bag checks at all entrance points, protecting players on court, and assisting with overall security at the event.
Security volunteers must be at least 20 years of age. Volunteers must be mature, alter, and possess the ability to vocalize direction. Security will work in conjunction with the local police department and tournament operations.
Volunteers are asked to donate their time for a minimum of three shifts over the course of the week. Should you be able volunteer more than that, we are glad to have you. Please note that once you committ to the shifts, we are counting on you so that things run smoothly.
